Exciting our children with opera, inspiring youth to participate in fine arts and performing arts
Opera Singers’ Voices Can be Heard Really Well but
CHILDREN’S VOICES SHOULD BE HEARD IN THE WORLD!
Outreach to Schools
An 'at-risk' population. We have a VERY limited budget… Our students have never been exposed to enrichment and cultural events. Therefore, when an opportunity such as yours comes, I jump on the prospect…
“Opera is the most expensive of all art forms. The audiences who have come to our Madama Butterfly, Carmen and Puccini Night have given these performances standing ovations repeatedly, so we know we're bringing quality opera to Marin. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful base of supporters, grown over 10 years of Golden Gate Opera. We welcome our new supporters whose participation happening now, brings the added necessary strength and staying power of Golden Gate Opera, so that we can enrich the community for years to come, and bring opera to children and seniors, and light the fire of enthusiasm for opera to newcomers of all ages who haven't been able to attend before. Professional opera is now accessible in Marin. Contact us now to join with others and be part of the exciting legacy of a permanent opera company in Marin County."
A grateful parent writes:
To Golden Gate Opera:
Just wanted to drop you a note to say thanks for doing what you are to promote opera, and especially for making it accessible to young musicians. My son was an oboe player for the Marin Symphony Youth Orchesta, (he is now a music student in college), an was truly inspired by his experience in attending both Madame Butterfly and Carmen. I was amazed at how much he enjoyed both watching the performance and visiting with the musicians backstage after the show. He came away wanting very much to perform in a opera someday himself. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.

January 25, 2007
Dear Roberta Becker and Friends of the Golden Gate Opera:
On behalf of the students and staff of Bayside Elementary School, I wish to thank you for your lively opera production. The children loved your presentation. They were excited to have you as guests at our school. Following along with songs was particularly enjoyable.
Students remembered the Golden Gate Opera from previous years and look forward to your production next year. A good time was had by all. Thank you for being good neighbors and thank you for thinking of the students in Sausalito Marin City School Districts's Bayside Elementary School.
Sincerely,
Julius Holtzclaw, Assistant to the Principal
Cherisse C. Baatin, District Principal.
