A Bold New Operaby John Cepelak, Composer & Christina Rose, LibrettistPremiere Preview Performances March 10 & 11, 2012 Saturday, March 10 at 8 pm Sunday, March 11 at 2:30 pm Angelico Hall, Dominican University, 50 Acacia Avenue, San Rafael 94901 This New Opera Work portrays the Historical Drama of President Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth on the 150-Year Commemoration of the American Civil War. As President Lincoln struggles to win against the greatest attempt to split the US in half over slavery, a mad actor with delusions of being the heroic southern Brutus plots to assassinate a northern Caesar. The future of equality in America is the fulcrum of their opposing visions in the Civil War. Only days after the Union's victory Abe Lincoln is murdered in a useless attempt to decapitate the government and overturn the South's defeat. Two families are torn apart as millions mourn. The First Lady, Mary Todd Lincoln, is driven insane by grief, and Mary Surratt, a duped pawn in Booth's plot, becomes the first woman ever to be executed in US history. THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS:
