Golden Gate Opera - Marin County Opera

Geisha Dancer and Choreographer for Geishas and body movement for GGO's Madama Butterfly, debuted with GGO as Forest Sprite in 2004's Hansel and Gretel, using ballet and modern movement. She then choreographed and danced in GGO's 2005 Madama Butterfly and returns with this special touch in our 2010 production. Monique was born in France and is French-Japanese. She started training in ballet at age 3 at Rosella Hightower International Ballet School in Cannes, France.

At age 15, she was promoted to the Avignion Opera Ballet as well as Normandy Opera Ballet to dance both classical and contemporary repertoires. She moved to the US to dance with the LA Ballet as a principal dancer, and performed both classical and contemporary repertoires. In 2003 she moved to San Francisco where her dance passion transferred to contemporary dance work. She performed with the groups Takami and Tomei, and Ledoh and Salt Farm, Deboreah Slater Dance Theatre, Yerba Buena Choreographer Festival), PhilOdancesophy Dance Theatre, Nature Theatre of Oaklahoma and with some of the local dance choreographers.
