Limuel Forgey
Baritone - Vice President Johnson
An in demand and sought after guest artist and performer, Mr. Forgey is at home on stage and in performance with outstanding opera companies and symphonic orchestras from around the country. Recent engagements have taken Mr. Forgey to San Francisco, The North Bay Area, The Central Valley of California, and to Washington State. Past performances include the American South and the Midwest of the United States. Included among Mr. Forgey's favorite roles include Sharpless from Puccini's Madama Butterfly, Germond from Verdi's La Traviata, and Roger Chillingworth in the operatic adaptation of the Scarlet Letter by American composer Jon Rainbow.
Upcoming engagements include a broadcast performance as the baritone soloist in Carmina Burana performed with the Tulare symphony, as El Gallo in The Fantasticks, and as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Visalia Opera Company. You may also see Mr. Forgey in California Opera’s festival in Fresno, CA this summer in various leading performances. Mr. Forgey earned his bachelor's degree in vocal performance from Washington State University and did his Master's work in voice at the University of Washington. He has been mentored by Metropolitan Opera diva Patrice Munsel and is currently a student of the incomparable international opera star Edna Garabedian. Other notable instructors include Leon Lishner, Abraham Kaplan, and Barbara Harbach. Mr. Forgey is managed by Diane Nixon and the California Opera Association.
